We want hall to be hive of activity
Plans to turn a controversial site into a children’s outdoor activity centre have been put forward. Three previous plans to develop Caythorpe Court, a former agricultural college site near Sleaford, have failed following opposition from local people. Former site owner the Angel Group had put up proposals to turn the hall into an emergency centre for asylum seekers, a drug treatment centre or a new housing estate. Developer PGL, which recently bought the company from the Angel Group, hopes the activity centre plan will meet with more approval. Janet Norman and her husband Terry fought a bitter battle against the previous plans but say they are far happier with the idea of an outdoor activities centre. “We don’t have a lot of detail yet, but this seems like a much more suitable use of the site, and may offer employment opportunities,” said Mrs Norman. “The company runs lots of other outdoor activity centres in other parts of the country and offers some really good activities.
